Chocolate Mound Brownies

Ingredients

4 squares (4 ounces) unsweetened chocolate
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup shredded coconut

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. In a large saucepan, or in the microwave, melt the chocolate and butter. Add the eggs, sugar, and vanilla, and stir well. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt, then add the pecans and coconut and stir until well blended. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes. Cut into squares to serve.
