1/2 cup packed fresh mint leaves
a 10-ounce package frozen peas
1/4 cup cold water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. Chop mint. In a small saucepan cook peas with water and sugar, covered, over moderately high heat until tender, 4 to 5 minutes. In a sieve drain peas and in a bowl toss with mint, butter, pepper, and salt to taste.
