The Lady & Sons Beef Vegetable Soup

Don’t let the lengthy ingredient list scare you away. It’s really not as bad as it looks. Even my brother, Bubba, can make it. On a cold winter’s day it will make your tongue want to slap your brains out! This recipe serves two or three dozen people, but can easily be cut in half. It keeps for up to five days in the refrigerator or two months in the freezer.

St. Paddy’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage

Savannah holds the second largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the United States. It is quite a sight to see: Our city turns green and corned beef and cabbage is everyone’s favorite dish for the day.

Sweet Stewed Tomatoes

During the winter months I recommend using canned tomatoes, but in the summer, don’t miss the chance to use vine-ripened fresh tomatoes.

Jelly Roll’s Crab Fried Rice

This dish is delicious served alongside a nice fresh fish or stuffed inside a fish fillet.

Warm Brie Salad Dressing

Pour this dressing over mixed greens such as Romaine, Boston, and one or two types of bitter greens.

Auntie’s Peanut Sauce

This is excellent on char-grilled chicken or pork. Swab or brush the sauce on the meat for the last 15 minutes of grilling time. Turn often, continuing to baste, to prevent burning.

White Sauce

To make a tasty cheese sauce for vegetables, add 1/2 cup shredded cheese.
